Youth worship with the whole congregation at the 10:00 AM service in the nave, on the second floor, reachable by stairs or elevator from our main south entrance. Come find Mtr. Brittany before or after the service and she'll introduce you to people and help you figure out what you might want to try.
If you or your child has allergies, sensory needs, or anything else we should know about, please tell Mtr. Brittany ahead of time. She would much rather hear from you in advance than have someone have a hard morning.
Serving on Sunday Morning
Volunteer with Children's Worship. Help lead and support our youngest worshippers, once a month, during the 10:00 AM service. Contact Mtr. Brittany to sign up.
Serve as an Acolyte. Students in 3rd grade and up are invited to serve as acolytes at St. Paul's, assisting in the procession and supporting the clergy during the celebration of the Mass. Acolytes build leadership skills, active listening, confidence, and resilience, and form meaningful relationships as part of an intergenerational team. Participation is expected once per month. Become a Lay Reader. Lay readers assist in worship by reading Scripture lessons during the service. Contact Mtr. Brittany to express interest.
Serve as a Junior Usher. Junior ushers help welcome worshippers, distribute bulletins, and assist with the smooth flow of the service. Contact Mtr. Brittany to inquire.
Sing in the Youth Choir (through 8th grade). Our youth choir performs on select Sundays throughout the year. Participation is free, and the group meets for weekly rehearsals on Wednesday evenings, with dinner provided. Contact our Music Director, Sam Anderson, at musicprogram.stpauls@gmail.com to express interest.

Beyond Sunday Morning
Our youth activity calendar runs on an occasional rhythm rather than a weekly one. Over the course of a year that includes lock-ins, youth events and trips, diocesan youth gatherings across the Diocese of West Missouri, and MegaCamp each summer, which we send a group to every year.
Because these come up throughout the year rather than on a set schedule, the best way to stay in the loop is to get on the youth email list. Contact Mtr. Brittany, and she'll make sure you hear about what's coming.
Confirmation
Confirmation is the moment when someone who was baptized as an infant or child claims that faith as their own. The promises made on their behalf at baptism, they now make for themselves, and the bishop lays hands on them and prays for the strengthening of the Holy Spirit.
It is not a graduation, and it isn't a test to pass. It's a decision, which means it belongs to the young person making it rather than to their parents. Preparation involves learning what Episcopalians believe and how we worship, asking hard questions, and thinking honestly about whether this is a faith you want to claim.
Classes leading to confirmation are generally offered yearly, though schedules vary. To inquire, please contact Mtr. Brittany at bsavage@stpaulskcmo.org.
Meet Mother Brittany
Mtr. Brittany serves as the Associate Rector and oversees Children, Youth, and Family Ministries. It is her passion to work with and alongside parents, caregivers, and volunteers to help children and youth grow in their faith. Through Christian education, fellowship, and opportunities for service, she helps children, youth, and families become more fully integrated into the life of the Church and discover what it means to be part of the Body of Christ.

St. Paul's follows the Diocese of West Missouri's Safe Church Policy. All staff and volunteers who work with minors complete Safe Church training and background screening, and we maintain a strict two-adult rule.
