At St. Paul’s Episcopal Church - Starts September 15th! The St. Paul’s Episcopal Church Music Program is thrilled to announce that The Episcopal Children’s Choir launched on Sunday, September 15th. All children across Kansas City, from kindergarten and up, are invited to participate. Choristers will learn healthy vocal technique, along with age appropriate musicianship training. They will lead worship several times at St. Paul’s throughout the year, including special carols for the Family Christmas Eve service. The program is free. Overseeing a team of three full-time professional music educators will be Sam Anderson, Rockhurst Choir Director for 12 years, and recently named the Kansas City District Director of the year by the MCDA. Joining him are Ms. Anna Hoard who studied Vocal Performance at the University of Kansas, has a Master’s Degree in Music Education from the Conservatory at UMKC and currently teaches Elementary Music Education in the Shawnee Mission School District, and Ms. Meaghan Coble who studied Music Education at the Conservatory at UMKC and currently teaches Elementary Music Education in the Kansas City, Kansas School District. Rehearsals are every Sunday morning at 9:40 am in the 3rd floor Music Room at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church. During rehearsal nursery care is available for younger siblings, and fellowship & coffee for adults in the room adjacent to the rehearsal space on the 3rd floor. Following rehearsal children are invited to stay for Sunday School (Godly Play), also on the 3rd floor, which runs through the exchange of the peace at the 10:00 Worship service where they will join their families. Please tell anyone you know about this new and free Music education program. We are very excited about it, and believe it will provide the same excellence of music, leadership training, service and friendship building St. Paul’s has come to expect from her music ministries. If you have any questions about this, please contact Sam Anderson . Thank you.

St. Paul’s Parish invites you to join us in a journey of faith as we seek to discover God’s vocation for us as a part of the Body of Christ right here and right now. It is here in Westport we seek to live our mission, “To Worship, To Serve, To Learn”. Our doors are open and all are welcome to join us.

St. Paul’s Parish draws its membership from all over the Kansas City area. It is not unusual for our members to drive many miles to be a part of this dynamic community of faith. Nor is it unusual for our members to take a short walk from home to church activities. We celebrate our diversity at St. Paul’s, truly believing every one of us to be a unique child of God.

The Episcopal Church of the United States is part of the Anglican Communion. Our faith is based on three foundations:

  • Scripture

  • Tradition

  • Reason

This means that learning about God’s word, and how we should respond to it, is central for us.   To learn more about the Episcopal Church, please consider visiting the following websites:
